What are your opening times?

 We are open between 10:00am and 4:00pm, with last entry at 3:00pm.

Is parking available?

Free on-site parking is available for all visitors using the main car park or if only visiting the café please follow the signs to park within the prison walls.

Blue Badge holders can park near the main reception in three designated areas, and along the main driveway. Please ensure your badge is clearly displayed during your visit.

Do I need to book in advance?

Tickets can be purchased on arrival, but we strongly recommend booking in advance, particularly for Guided Tours, as spaces are limited.

Do you accept cash or card?

The prison is cashless. All payments must be made by card or contactless.

How long should I allow for my visit?

If you are visiting with Prison Entry, we recommend allowing 1.5–2 hours to explore the site.

Do children under a certain age enter for free?

Children under 5 years old enter free.

Child tickets apply to visitors aged 5–15 years.

Are family tickets available?

Yes, family tickets are available for Prison Entry. These tickets may not apply to other activities or promotions.

Can I change or refund my booking?

Our cancellation policy can be found here.

If you created an account when booking, you can change your tickets online, subject to a small administration fee and time restrictions.

What happens if I lose my confirmation email?

Don’t worry, we won’t lock you up for this crime! Your confirmation email will come from Cove Attractions. If you can’t locate it, simply provide the name on the booking, activity, and reservation time when you arrive and we’ll check you in. If you would like the email resent, please contact us using the contact form with any booking details you can remember.

How do I book a third-party voucher experience?

If you have a voucher from Virgin Experience Days, Wonderdays, Buyagift, or Red Letter Days, please complete the contact form and include: Name, Preferred visit date and time, Voucher number, Voucher expiry date, PIN (for Virgin Experience vouchers), Your visit date must fall within the voucher expiry date. If you have a Cove Attractions voucher, you can book directly through the reservation system and enter your voucher code at checkout.

Are dogs allowed?

Well-behaved dogs are welcome with Prison Entry.

Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times, and owners are responsible for cleaning up after them.

Is the site accessible for wheelchair users or visitors with limited mobility?

Do you offer concession discounts?

We offer concessionary tickets for: Students, Seniors, Blue Light Card holders.

Do Carers Go Free?

Visitors who require a carer may bring one carer free of charge. Proof of carer status is required on arrival.

What should visitors wear?

You will be walking both indoors and outdoors, so we recommend comfortable footwear and weather-appropriate clothing .The prison wings can remain cool even during summer, so bringing an extra layer is advisable.

What facilities are available?

We provide: Toilets, Seating areas around the site, Facilities are located near the Visitor Centre and around the prison.

Is there a café?

Yes. Our café offers a selection of: Hot & cold drinks, cakes & sweet treats light meals & snacks. The café is open to both visitors and non-visitors, making it a great meeting point.

Can I take photos during my visit?

Yes photography is encouraged throughout the site.

Feel free to share your photos on social media and tag us. If you think you’ve captured a ghost, we’d definitely love to see it! Please refer to our T&C’S for further information.

Do you have a gift shop?

Yes. our gift shop offers a variety of gifts to treat yourself, family & friends. The shop is open to both visitors and non-visitors.

Are there any restrictions on site?

Smoking is not permitted within the prison walls. Drones are not permitted without prior permission.

Is the attraction suitable for children?

Yes. The prison is engaging and an educational experience for children.

Is the site buggy or stroller friendly?

Much of the site is accessible with a buggy, though some areas require stairs. There are places where buggies can be left safely if access is limited.

Do you offer school or educational visits?

Are group rates available?

Group bookings are available on Tours & Activities for 15 or more people. Please contact us for more information.
