Kids Go Free on Self-Guided Tours

For a limited time, kids go FREE on Self-Guided Tours with every paying adult, saving £10 per child (T&Cs apply). Each paying adult can bring up to three children for free! Designed with local families in mind, it’s an affordable half-term outing with a difference, set inside an over 130-year-old jail in the heart of Aberdeenshire.

What to Expect on a Self-Guided Tour

Wander at your leisure, snap ‘CELLfies’ and soak up the unique atmosphere of Scotland’s Toughest Jail. Grab a map to guide your educational journey, then bring the jail’s past to life with audio boxes and information boards. Together, you’ll uncover real stories of crime, punishment and life behind bars.

Want to go deeper into the prison’s history? You can upgrade your Self-Guided Tour to a Guided Tour for an extra £10 per adult and £7 per child, allowing you to tailor your visit to the experience your family want.

That’s not all! This February Half Term, kids eat FREE when you buy an adult meal in our onsite café, available between 12:00-2:30pm (T&Cs apply). This offer is the ideal chance to take a break and enjoy lunch together before heading back to explore.
